Cleanser & Moisturiser

Ist step Cleanser Test

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser about a 10 cents size. Do this first thing in the morning. Pat dry with  soft towel. Now sit down where it’s not too hot or cold for about an 30 to 60 mins. Then look and feel your skin.

  • Normal skin – has no oiliness or flakiness
  • Combination skin – has oil on your T-Zone, large pores and dryness
  • Oily skin – has oil on most areas & large pores. Foaming or Gel cleansers are great for N/C/O/A
  • Acne Prone skin – has breakouts, oiliness, redness, sensitive and or dryness. Use AM a gentler cleanser. Then PM a more deeper cleanser.
  • Dry Skin – has some flakiness, tightness and small pores. S
  • Sensitive skin – has some redness, rashes or itching. Always use a Sunblock
  • Mature skin – is usually over 40 yrs, fine lines, wrinkles and or sagging skin. Also can be slightly oily/dry/sensitive. Cream or Lotion Cleansers are ideal for N/D/S/M skin types

Basically if your skin feels ok you have normal skin. If it feels tight it’s probably dry. Or if it tends to feel oily or looks shiny its oily skin. But if you have both then you might have combination skin. Dont forget  Summer and Winter your skincare routine will change.

2nd Step Moisturiser test

Next apply your moisturiser usually about a 10 cents size. Again basically if your skin feels ok it’s normal. For Mature skins check out 3 most important Anti-Ageing ingredients your moisturiser should always have

  • Normal skin – your moisturiser should not feel heavy or leave you feeling tight
  • Oily skin – it shouldn’t leave a greasy feeling. Gel or Non-Comedogenic moisturiser are ideal for O/C/A skins
  • Combination skin – it shouldn’t feel greasy on your t-zone or tight in other areas.  Apply less to your oilier areas and more to drier areas
  • Acne Prone skin –  similar to combination skin not a heavy feeling on oilier areas or tightness on drier areas. First apply your acne treatment before your moisturiser.
  • Dry Skin – it should absorb straight into the skin & relive any dryness.
  • Sensitive skin – it shouldn’t leave skin irritated, stingy or red. Spritz throughout the day with a Moisturising Spray
  • Mature skin – Similar to normal skin type your moisturiser should not feel heavy or leave you feeling tight. Ideal to use a treatment serum first.  Mature skin can also be slightly C/O/D/S as well

If after your 2nd step you’re still not certain of your skin type. Book yourself a Salon or Mobile Facial Treatment. Then your therapist can diagnose your skin type. If you’re having a facial before a special occasion coming up allow a week before your Beauty Treatment. Espically if you have allergies or sensitive skin. Or having extractions done.

Cleanser & Moisturiser

Don’t forget your Eye and Lip Treatments

Remember your Eyes and Lips need attention too. A good Eye or Lip treatment is vital. As your skin is the thiniest on your eye area. Always lightly cleanse your eye area. For small bumps under the eyes use a gentle scrub. When using your face scrub always include your lips.

Moisturising only ever use an Eye Cream. To soften fine Lines and wrinkles try an Eye or Lip Mask. Include your lip area when moisturising your face. If you have dark circles just give yourself a regular mini eye massage to increase blood circulation. For those thin top lips try a good Lip Plumping product to increase the volume

What are the 5 basic Manicure Services?

Not sure which is the right type of Manicure

There are 5 basic Manicure & Pedicure Services. First is Regular Polish which  includes extras like scrubs & massage. Great idea for Kids Parties or the Elderly. For longer lasting Polish try a Gel Polish Mani. Goes on like regular polish using a UV Gel Lamp then dries in 30 seconds. Ideal for first time Mums or Weddings.

Maybe you want to try the new SNS Nail Polish. Where you dip nails in these little coloured pots, then just air dry your nails. Great tips here on nail colours makes your nails look longer or hands look younger

If you have very weak nails or a heavy nail biter. Fake Acrylic tips or overlays might be for you. Giving you longer, stronger nails & cheaper than Gel Nails. But if you want something little more natural & less toxic. Fake Gel Nail tips or overlays are the better option. Both artificial nail services are perfect for special occasions or can help stop nail biting

1. What’s included in a Basic Regular Manicure & Pedicure?

Filing, cuticles, soaking, foot filing, Massage & Polish. First should be applied a good sticky base coat. Then usually 2 coats of Colour & lastly a quick drying glossy Top Coat.

Unfortunately for some people depending on their lifestyle or job. Regular polish can come off quickly. Here are some great tips for a longer lasting manicure . Otherwise apply a light coat of top coat over nail & tip every few days.

Depending on how long your Mani is it might include a long relaxing Massage.  Or a nourishing mask, like a Collagen Hand Mask. Maybe an Exfoliating Scrub or warm Paraffin Wax treatment

2. How does a Gel Polish Mani work?

Filing, Cuticles, Buffing & Polish. This a basic or express Gel Polish  & is applied similar to regular polish. But is cured under a Gel Led Lamp usually taking 30 seconds to dry. So there is no smudging, chipping or fading.

It can go straight on your bare nails. Or straight over your Acrylics or Gel Nails too. Most Gel Polishes have no hash chemicals in them these days.

As Gel Polish can be a bit drying for your nails you should massage your hands & nails everyday. Lasting 2 or 3 weeks you then should remove the polish. Either professionally or you can do it at home it’s quite easy only take 10-15 mins.Mobile Nail Service Brisbane

3. Is SNS Nail Polish better than Gel?

SNS which stands for Signature Nail System and Gel Polish are both good options. SNS takes a little longer & lasts a little longer. But does cost a little more than a Gel Mani. Just be aware of possible hygiene problems of dipping your nails in the same pots as others. But some people still swear that Gel Polish is better, so it’s really personal choice

So how they do a SNS Manicure is Filing, Cuticles, Buffing, Base Coat, Coloured Dipping Powder & Top Coat

Your nails are first painted with a gel based coat. Then dipped in colour pots a few times. Finally a painted with a top coat sealant and just air-dried. It can give a more natural look & feel to your nails.

4. Are Acrylic Fake nails safe?

Acrylic nails are simply fake nails or tips. It’s ideal for weak nails & bad nail biters. Or if you would just love very long nails or beautiful nail art for that special occasion.  Acrylics are thicker and will last longer than Gel Nails

But long-term use might increase your chances of thinning and weakening your nails. Also you always have to be careful of bacteria or infections

Basic Acrylic Manicure services includes trimming, cuticles, tips glued, Acrylic applied, air-dried & colour. First base primer is painted on. Then tips are glued to your nails. Now the Acrylics is applied like a blob of dough shaped on your nail or tips smoothed out, buffed then air-dried. Lastly regular or gel polish is applied.

5. Gel Nails is it a more natural Fake Nail?

They do have less toxic chemicals in them and don’t have a strong smell like Acrylics. With a more natural & glossier look.  Your nails will feel thinner and more like real nails. But they do cost more they Acrylics. That being said Gel Nails don’t last quite as long as Acrylics.

So how they applied is similar to your basic Gel Polish Manicure. Starting with Filing, Cuticles, Buffing. Then a like Acrylics tips are applied first or Gel applied to the bare nails

Then from a little pot like gooey glue the Gel Polish is applied a few times. Smoothed out & cured under the UV Gel Lamp. Then prepared for your Coloured polish of your choice. So which one is for you?
