What simple, healthy beauty tip helps wrinkles, firms skin & strengthen nails

A simple beauty tip that does it all a daily dose of Collagen. It helps soften fine lines and strengthen weak nails. As well as thickens hair, reduce bone loss and boosts muscle mass.

Well re-knowned wholistic plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn says. Results from clinical trials has shown Collagen improves up to 60% moisture and tone of your skin. Go for top quality Collagen supplements with Verisol as the main ingredient.

As we get older you find you start adding serums and night creams. By taking a a daily Collagen supplement you can reduce all these extra beauty treatments

simple-home-beauty-tip

Which Collagen type gives you a glowing skin, nails and hair

Collagen type 1 & 3 is for skin, hair, nails and bones. Minimizes fines lines. Improves dryness, increases elasticity. Slows hair loss and helps correct weak nails. Also helps bone structure and build lean muscle.

Whereas collagen 2 is for joints and cartilage. Increases protein and collagen for knees, back, jaw and joints

What vital ingredients should be in your Collagen supplement

Verisol should be the main ingredient in your Collagen supplements. Studies show that Verisol can slow the natural process of sagging skin. Which leads to less wrinkles, sagging skin and lack of moisture.

Also include Hydraulic Acid which helps plumpen up your skin. Add on Biotin for brittle nails and hair loss. Include all 3 ingredients for the best results. Also check out which 3 skincare anti-ageing ingredients give the best results

You can easily take Collagen in the form of tablets, liquid or powder. By using the powder you can also add it to smoothies, muffins, cereal or coffee.  Best to purchase a flavourless powder

Another great home beauty tip that Beauty Salons use

Is Micro-Needling your skin. It can help increase collagen and thicken your skin. Also soften fine lines and wrinkles. As well as decrease acne scarring.

But you can do it at home easily. By purchasing a  0.5mm – 2.5mm Micro -Needle Roller. With its very fine needles it prickles the top layer of your skin. This helps your moisturisers and serums penetrate deeper into your skin. Up to 10000 more times into the depth of your skin. Which means your skincare product works much more effectively.

Simple to use 1 – 3 times a week. After moisturiseing roll your Micro-Needler in different direction. Some redness may occur for a short period so do at night. Wonderful for smoothing lines and improving skin texture. Dont use over any redness or infected areas

Are you using the right cleanser & moisturiser?

Not sure if your using the right cleanser or moisturiser

In two very simple but important steps I show you how to determine if you’re using the right cleanser & moisturiser. Did you know the average Australian women spend $3600 per year on beauty products. So stop wasting money on useless skincare products.

Also check out The Age Fix- How to Look Ten Years Younger by a leading Plastic surgeon. Telling you which beauty products actually work.

Cleanser & Moisturiser

Ist step Cleanser Test

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser about a 10 cents size. Do this first thing in the morning. Pat dry with  soft towel. Now sit down where it’s not too hot or cold for about an 30 to 60 mins. Then look and feel your skin.

  • Normal skin – has no oiliness or flakiness
  • Combination skin – has oil on your T-Zone, large pores and dryness
  • Oily skin – has oil on most areas & large pores. Foaming or Gel cleansers are great for N/C/O/A
  • Acne Prone skin – has breakouts, oiliness, redness, sensitive and or dryness. Use AM a gentler cleanser. Then PM a more deeper cleanser.
  • Dry Skin – has some flakiness, tightness and small pores. S
  • Sensitive skin – has some redness, rashes or itching. Always use a Sunblock
  • Mature skin – is usually over 40 yrs, fine lines, wrinkles and or sagging skin. Also can be slightly oily/dry/sensitive. Cream or Lotion Cleansers are ideal for N/D/S/M skin types

Basically if your skin feels ok you have normal skin. If it feels tight it’s probably dry. Or if it tends to feel oily or looks shiny its oily skin. But if you have both then you might have combination skin. Dont forget  Summer and Winter your skincare routine will change.

2nd Step Moisturiser test

Next apply your moisturiser usually about a 10 cents size. Again basically if your skin feels ok it’s normal. For Mature skins check out 3 most important Anti-Ageing ingredients your moisturiser should always have

  • Normal skin – your moisturiser should not feel heavy or leave you feeling tight
  • Oily skin – it shouldn’t leave a greasy feeling. Gel or Non-Comedogenic moisturiser are ideal for O/C/A skins
  • Combination skin – it shouldn’t feel greasy on your t-zone or tight in other areas.  Apply less to your oilier areas and more to drier areas
  • Acne Prone skin –  similar to combination skin not a heavy feeling on oilier areas or tightness on drier areas. First apply your acne treatment before your moisturiser.
  • Dry Skin – it should absorb straight into the skin & relive any dryness.
  • Sensitive skin – it shouldn’t leave skin irritated, stingy or red. Spritz throughout the day with a Moisturising Spray
  • Mature skin – Similar to normal skin type your moisturiser should not feel heavy or leave you feeling tight. Ideal to use a treatment serum first.  Mature skin can also be slightly C/O/D/S as well

If after your 2nd step you’re still not certain of your skin type. Book yourself a Salon or Mobile Facial Treatment. Then your therapist can diagnose your skin type. If you’re having a facial before a special occasion coming up allow a week before your Beauty Treatment. Espically if you have allergies or sensitive skin. Or having extractions done.

Cleanser & Moisturiser

Don’t forget your Eye and Lip Treatments

Remember your Eyes and Lips need attention too. A good Eye or Lip treatment is vital. As your skin is the thiniest on your eye area. Always lightly cleanse your eye area. For small bumps under the eyes use a gentle scrub. When using your face scrub always include your lips.

Moisturising only ever use an Eye Cream. To soften fine Lines and wrinkles try an Eye or Lip Mask. Include your lip area when moisturising your face. If you have dark circles just give yourself a regular mini eye massage to increase blood circulation. For those thin top lips try a good Lip Plumping product to increase the volume

What to expect from a Mobile Back Facial Treatment

So what is a Back Facial or Bacial

Back Facial is for that special occasion or holiday destination. Or if you just want a soft and smooth back. Free from breakouts and dryness. Not only does it help unclog pores and decrease breakouts. As well as reducing redness and dryness. Starting off with exfoliating scrubs then Mask treatments. Afterwards enjoy a relaxing and detoxifying massage

Basically a Back Facial is much like a Facial hence the word Bacial. So just like your face needs a good skincare routine. So does your back especially if you have acne or dry patches. For any concerns about your back. Just let your therapist know ahead. So she can have the right treatments available.

Mobile Back Facial

Step 1 of your Back Facial – Deep Cleansing Exfoliation

Firstly your Mobile Beauty Therapist will start with deep cleansing. Either a gentle scrub for drier skins. Or if you have breakouts or acne-prone skin then an exfoliating scrub. Then steaming hot towel removal to open the pores

Back scrubs are just as important as your regular Facial scrubs. Not only do they remove the dead dry skin cells. As well as blemish marks and sun spots. By reducing unclogging your pores and removing dry patches. Which then gives you a more even skin tone so you can better absorb moisturisers. So if you want a smoother and softer skin. You need to look at using a body scrub once or twice a week.

Step 2 – Mango or Chocolate Mask Treatment

Then secondly a mask treatment. Your Therapist will work out the appropiate treatment for your skin type. Whilst your mask is drying enjoy a soothing scalp massage. Afterwards hot steamed towel removal. Followed by extractions of any blackheads, whiteheads or milla. Back Facials are also ideal for Mens and Teenagers

For more normal to dry skin our nourishing Mango and Coconut clay mask is used. Leaving your back area much more hydrated. For normal, oil and blemished prone skin we use our purifying Chocolate and Cocoa mask. Chocolate helps reduce oiliness, redness, breakouts and acne. Also can help balance out your skin. By sloughing away dead skin cells and smoothing out rough skin.

Mobile Back Facial

Step 3 – Detoxifying Back Massage

Then finally the most relaxing part the massage. After a deep cleansing and purifying mask. Your pores are more open and less clogged. With a good detoxifying massage to help boost circulation. As well as releasing tense & tight muscles. This helps reduce anymore built up toxins, breakouts, redness and dry patches.

As we head into Winter this is the best time for a Bacial. So once Summer arrives your back will not only feel great but look great. Ready for those backless dresses or  ideal before a Spray Tan. Its a well know fact if you feel emotionally and physically good. You will eat better and sleep better. Then your skin gets better and you feel better.

How to trim nails for the elderly

Invalid slider id. Master Slider ID must be a valid number.

How do you care & trim nails for the elderly

First just knowing basic nail care for your elderly Mum or Dad’s nails can prevent further problems. Most common problems range from thick nails, brittleness, split or cracked nails. Also pinched and curved toenails. As well as dryness and redness of hands or feet.

Because as we age our nails growth rate slows down considerably. Then any damage that occurs in fingernails or toenails, will take that much longer to recover. By being aware of how to trim nails for the elderly. You can prevent further damage if they have any their nail disorders

how to trim nails for the elderly

Basic tips on caring for their hands and feet

  • Keep hands and in particular feet clean and dry
  • Check regularly for changes in their nails
  • Be aware which medication can cause nail disorders
  • Regular nail trimming for the elderly is important
  • Also weekly hands and feet massage to promote circulation
  • Daily moisturising is needed if dryness is due to medications
  • Change socks every day and encourage good supportive and fitted footwear
  • Encourage 4 to 6 weeks regular seniors mani’s or pedi’s
  • Recommend a yearly checkup with a Podiatrist

What’s the correct way to trim elderly nails

Preferably when nails are dry try cut them straight across. If nails are extremely thick then try soaking about 10 minutes first. Thick, ingrown, curving nails should always be cut straight across. It can sometimes be easier to do 2 or 3 small trims instead of one big one.

Nail clippers are good for large nails or reasonably healthy nails . Where clippers can be more helpful for difficult or mishaped nails.  If your Mum or Dad aren’t well enough to go out consider a monthly Mobile Manicure or Pedicure

how to trim nails for the elderly

Basic nail disorders for hands and feet

  1. Thick toenails are very common in elderly because as we age our nails thicken. From fungal infections to skin conditions. As well as injuries or tight-fitting shoes are common causes of this nail disorder in the elderly. Trimming thickened nails may need 10 minutes soaking first. Then using your nail clippers by doing 1 – 3 small clips. Always file them straight across
  2. Brittle, Split or Cracked Nails  When toenails thicken they can also tend to become discoloured, brittle and cracked. Applying a good quality or natural moisturiser daily will help.  Also try the occasional hand treatments or foot treatments. With either nail clippers or nippers gently trim and file straight across.
  3. Pincher or Trumpet nails can be caused by fungal infection, skin diseases, medications or mainly arthritic changes. It;s probably a good idea to have a Podiatrist or Nail Techican cut them correctly first. But ideally you need to cut them in the corner with nippers. Then file them straight across here’s how. To maintain every week file the corner of the nail and file straight across
  4. Curvature nails this type of nail disorder it can be caused from genetics, nail trauma or diet. As well as incorrect nail trimming or tight shoes. You need to cut in a straight line, not too short and on a regular basis
